About the Role

Join Action for Children as a Team Leader in our new therapeutic children's homes in the London Borough of Hackney. You will be instrumental in developing and launching these homes, building the team, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children and young people. This role is crucial in providing stable, safe, and loving homes that enable children to grow up supported and happy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and supervise staff.
  • Engage in link working with young people.
  • Develop care plans and identify agreed outcomes.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of young people.
  • Act as an advocate for the wellbeing of young people.
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence.
  • Lead a team of Residential Support Workers, setting a positive tone.
  • Help create a space that feels safe, fun, and welcoming.
  • Maintain high standards of care and practice.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Help build the team and put everything in place to lay a sound foundation.
  • Secure OFSTED registration.

Requirements

  • Level 3 QCF Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Support Hackney’s Children and Families Service and Action for Children’s commitment to eradicating systemic racism, discrimination, and injustice, making anti-racism a foundation of practice.
  • Understand the cultural, societal, and ideological forces that shape a child’s development.

Salary/Compensations

  • Upto £37,833 per annum
  • £700 on call allowance
