Responsibilities
- Assist with meter installation inspections for all meters used by Metergy.
- Provide programming assistance for all meters used by Metergy.
- Commission thermal, water, and electrical meters not under S-E-04.
- Perform all meter communication wiring, including Phone/Ethernet, RS-485, and low voltage cable installation and termination.
- Assemble metering and related equipment to support installations and operations.
- Install metering-related equipment to support installations and operations.
- Provide warehouse support, including deliveries and inventory counts, ensuring items do not exceed comfortable lifting weight.
- Investigate and resolve communication and clerical issues.
- Test Current Transformer cable assemblies.
- Splice Current Transformer cable harnesses.
- Work with Measurement Canada and other governing entities.
- Perform administrative tasks as required.
- Update building status and communicate proactively with site foremen or building project managers for effective work scheduling.
- Support building design.
- Undergo mandatory position level testing upon hiring.
Requirements
- College-level reading and writing skills.
- Ability to give and receive factual technical information.
- Mid to advanced knowledge of electrical theory.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Basic understanding of Electricity Act & Regulations.
- Ability to use hand tools, volt meters, and basic test equipment.
- Ability to perform work in accordance with established procedures, practices, and instructions.
- Ability to perceive apparent problems, with precise identification potentially requiring further inquiry.
