About the Role
Diversified Maintenance is hiring an Area Manager responsible for the overall supervision of janitorial staff at assigned sites. The Area Manager ensures customer satisfaction through quality service delivery within budget.
Responsibilities
- Select and place janitorial personnel, conduct performance appraisals, and design career development and performance improvement plans.
- Champion the company's strategic principles, core values, and people culture.
- Assign duties, inspect work for cleanliness and completion, and review performance to ensure quality service.
- Determine work procedures and prepare schedules while managing the labor budget.
- Conduct new hire orientation, safety training, and job training.
- Prepare and review required paperwork, including time sheets, accident reports, and new hire paperwork.
- Foster open communication, assist with employee relations issues, and coach employees for success.
- Establish customer relationships by regularly visiting accounts to ensure service quality.
- Resolve problems and complaints promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Document customer contacts and concerns, and delegate tasks to resolve issues.
- Monitor assigned accounts for work order opportunities and additional contract work.
- Ensure all mandatory Quality Control site visits are completed and recorded.
- Spend time at account locations to support outcomes and meet customer needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
- Business-level oral and written communication skills; fluent in English.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.
- Excellent customer service and active listening skills.
- Ability to lead and encourage teamwork.
- Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.
