About the Role
As an Elite Armed Security Officer in Downtown Austin, TX, you will safeguard clients in various industries, including Tech/Media/Telecom. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter security incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, entry points, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access control points, visitor activity, and/or alarm systems as assigned, documenting observations and reporting unusual conditions.
- Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain required logs, and communicate professionally with site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- Possess at least 3 years of experience as a military police officer, corrections officer, armed guard, or be a certified law enforcement graduate.
- Demonstrate a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
- Hold a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
