About the Role
Upstate Niagara Cooperative, a dairy cooperative owned by local family farms, seeks a Production Supervisor to manage daily production and sanitation processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while fostering employee development and achieving production goals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Company Safety program, including accident investigations, preventative audits, and training.
- Ensure compliance with Company Quality standards, including titrations, reviewing master sanitation schedule, and monitoring preventative maintenance.
- Maintain employee payroll, time and attendance, morale, and training, enforcing Company policies and procedures.
- Achieve production goals for product quality, machine efficiency, employee productivity, staffing, and training using effective leadership and communication.
- Achieve cooler goals for customer fill rate, cooler shrink, and cooler rotation.
- Achieve established department goals for production volume, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
- Provide leadership and guidance to employees for development and a positive working atmosphere.
- Assist with SAP training programs for employees.
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet business objectives.
- Communicate non-compliances in a timely fashion for corrective action.
- Assign job responsibilities to employees according to policies to meet production schedules, ensuring proper equipment repair and operating techniques.
- Monitor employee morale and resolve departmental problems.
- Maintain employee records such as time sheets, absences, tardy records, overtime, and safety.
- Ensure standard operating procedures for job functions are accurate and up to date.
- Conduct accident investigations as needed.
- Oversee production employee job performance, including safety, orientation, training, and discipline.
- Assure compliance with employee relations policies and programs.
- Monitor and enforce all policies and formulations.
- Instruct and train present and future employees as needed.
- Coordinate with purchasing to monitor inventory control and variance control of all packaging and processing supplies.
- Lead continuous improvement activities to improve safety losses, performance results, processes, and costs.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate the performance of direct reports
- Ability to think analytically
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Must show enthusiasm, initiative, pride in work and a commitment to the organization and its mission
- Good computer skills, demonstrating proficiency in MS Windows, Word and Excel
- Good human relations skills, ability to work well with others and be a team member
