About the Role
Join Action for Children as a Team Leader in our new therapeutic children's homes in the London Borough of Hackney. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on providing safe, stable, and loving environments for young people, helping them grow and maintain important relationships. This role is crucial in developing and launching new homes, building the team, and ensuring a strong foundation for OFSTED registration.
Responsibilities
- Leading shifts and supervising staff
- Link working with young people
- Developing care plans and identifying agreed outcomes
- Responsible for the safeguarding of young people
- Being an advocate for the wellbeing of the young people who live with us
- Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
- Lead a team of Residential Support Workers
- Set the tone for a positive, supportive, and child-centred home
- Create a space that feels safe, fun, and welcoming
- Maintain high standards of care and practice
- Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the home as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure young people are in a safe and supporting environment required to nurture their needs
Requirements
- Level 3 QCF Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential
- Support Hackney’s Children and Families Service and Action for Children’s commitment to eradicating systemic racism, discrimination, injustice, making anti-racism a foundation of their practice
- Understand the cultural, societal and ideological forces that shape a child’s development

Salary/Compensations
- Upto £37,833 per annum plus £700 on call allowance
