About the Role
As an EHS Advisor at Johnson Matthey, a world leader in platinum group metals, you will provide practical EHS advice, coaching, and support to operational teams. You will help ensure safe and compliant working practices, support the delivery of the site EHS plan, and lead or support incident investigations, audits, and behavioral safety activities. This role is crucial in tackling global challenges by applying, refining, and recycling metals for a healthier, more sustainable future.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical EHS advice, coaching and support to operational teams.
- Ensure safe and compliant working practices.
- Support the delivery of the site EHS plan and continuous improvement programmes.
- Lead or support incident investigations, audits, inspections and behavioral safety activities.
- Assist with emergency planning arrangements and support COMAH compliance requirements.
- Develop and promote Safe Systems of Work, including permit-to-work and high-risk activity controls.
- Deliver EHS training.
- Collaborate with leaders, contractors and employees to strengthen safety culture.
Requirements
- Experience in an industrial, engineering or process-manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, COMAH, COSHH and environmental permitting requirements.
- Qualified auditor with experience supporting management system compliance and continual improvement.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and influence positive EHS behaviours at all levels.
Skills
- NEBOSH Certificate with progress towards a Diploma or equivalent health and safety qualification.
