About the Role
The Workflow Coordinator performs inventory management tasks, inbound/outbound analysis, and provides ongoing support with SWOP/EWM and SAP processing. This role is responsible for managing and distributing work to ensure efficient freight flow and timely completion of customer orders. It involves resource allocation to resolve issues, small project execution, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives within the distribution center. This is a self-starting role requiring interaction with frontline and leadership teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations by assigning workload through SWOP/SAP EWM for all inventory, IB, and OB functions, based on scheduled appointments and priority.
- Utilize yard management system PINC/SWOP to arrange trailer moves to and from the dock, aligning trailers to appropriate doors for shipping/receiving.
- Perform periodic audits on PINC, bill of lading/BOL, ICC, and Quality, ensuring compliance when filing BOLs.
- Communicate vertically and laterally on all matters related to daily workload to achieve business objectives.
- Effectively and timely resolve flow issues and problems raised by frontline employees to ensure facility operations continue and minimize downtime.
- Compile daily reports on workload status and past due carriers for outbound appointments.
- Ensure flow procedures are followed appropriately by frontline employees, internal and external sources.
- Support operational initiatives and projects focused on People, Quality, Service, lowering total delivered costs, and NCE.
- Support facility and department guidelines, processes, and SOPs, balancing business needs and employee needs.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions.
- Support inventory control functions including IB/OB, Order Maintenance, General Questions, and FIFO.
- Support fill rate by managing order packets, pending/hold orders, and pre-picks to ship 100% to the customer.
- Ensure site security by answering front gate calls after hours.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Associates Degree or higher education preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a Logistics Operations environment preferred.
- Experience working with labor planning and assets (e.g., forklifts, sit-downs).
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (EWM) and SAP preferred.
- Experience training and mentoring peers.
- Proficiency in systems technology and software applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate clearly via phone and email.
- Must exhibit a high degree of urgency and commitment to resolve transaction errors with minimal supervision.
