About the Role
CORRECTIV is seeking to expand its moving image team and develop new journalistic formats for media libraries and television. This role involves developing new formats and narrative approaches, guiding ideas from concept to publication, and overseeing their implementation. The ideal candidate will identify topic potential, think visually and platform-appropriately, and transform good ideas into compelling journalistic formats.
Responsibilities
- Develop and guide new video and audio formats with a focus on media libraries and television.
- Undertake authoring tasks and provide technical guidance to authors and external creatives, overseeing their work.
- Develop new ideas or further develop existing ones, determining the necessary content, perspectives, and visuals for successful implementation.
- Prepare pitches, develop treatments, format papers, and presentations.
- Oversee productions and coordinate closely with production, camera, editing, and post-production teams to ensure effective implementation of creative ideas.
- Monitor societal developments, platforms, and the moving image market to derive new format ideas.
- Think beyond the defined role, explore different areas, and accompany productions on set as needed.
- Monitor the moving image market, identify trends and potentials, and develop new ideas based on them.
Requirements
- Experience in producing journalistic or documentary moving image formats for digital platforms and ideally for linear distribution.
- Structured work approach, ability to maintain an overview during demanding production phases, and find pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to coordinate teams, make decisions, and communicate tasks clearly.
- Strong understanding of the media industry and journalistic production workflows.
- Experience in format development and/or a feel for dramaturgy, target audiences, and platform-specific storytelling.
- Ease in considering editorial ideas and assessing the requirements for successful implementation with the editorial team.
- Creative ideas combined with a good understanding of production processes.
- Experience with production calculations, realistic budget assessment, and the ability to calculate budgets independently or a willingness to develop in this area.
