About the Role

Smith & Nephew is a global medical company that supports healthcare professionals in their efforts to improve patients' quality of life by restoring their health after injury or illness. The Sports Medicine division provides products and technologies for arthroscopic surgery, particularly for repairing ligament and meniscus injuries in the shoulder and knee, supporting surgeons and facilitating the recovery of a wide range of patients from athletes to the elderly.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve budget and profit targets by increasing market share with existing customers and acquiring new ones.
  • Manage existing and new facilities, developing plans and setting target amounts for new facility product adoption.
  • Confirm progress towards goals monthly and quarterly with superiors to establish achievable budget plans.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to deepen product understanding and increase usage.
  • Foster good relationships with distributors to promote sales.
  • Acquire sufficient knowledge of company products and sales techniques, passing certification tests.
  • Stay updated on the latest product and competitor information to continuously improve skills.
  • Pass product-specific certification tests and apply knowledge in sales activities.
  • Submit daily activity reports to share information.
  • Immediately report any on-site issues to superiors without concealment.
  • Effectively manage and operate loaner/consignment inventory.
  • Complete inventory counts by the deadline.
  • Effectively utilize and manage sales expenses (sample costs, sales activity expenses) within budget.
  • Consider the relationship with OPEX when managing inventory (samples, long-term loans, consignment, repair replacements).
  • Adhere to travel expense reporting rules.
  • Conduct all sales activities in compliance with industry and company regulations, with no exceptions.
  • Complete and adhere to internal web training by the deadline.
  • Ensure acquisition of clinical trial forms, witness confirmation, and loan confirmation documents.
  • Comply with traffic laws.
  • Assist the Sales Manager and act as a role model for team members, demonstrating leadership.
  • Manage multiple key facilities within the district, branch, or sales office.
  • Achieve results by exceeding the sales department average budget by 10%.
  • Execute the division's goal of acquiring new facilities (continuous adoption) at multiple facilities recognized by the Sales Director annually.
  • Participate in talent development, including planning and conducting training for new hires.
  • Proactively engage in sales activities as part of 'One Smith & Nephew'.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree.
  • Must possess a regular driver's license.
  • Requires sales experience (approximately 2-3 years or more).
  • Desired: Sales experience in the medical industry or experience as a healthcare professional.
  • Desired: Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a forward-thinking mindset towards achieving goals.
  • Must demonstrate teamwork-oriented behavior.
  • Must possess a drive to continuously acquire the latest medical knowledge.
  • Must exhibit the mindset and behavior of a medical professional, not just a salesperson.
