About the Role
The primary objective of this role is to drive profitable and diversified growth in the Corporates Debt Advisory practice by leading its strategy and providing specialist debt advice. The role involves working closely with various internal teams and external parties to originate and execute debt advisory mandates, manage client relationships, and contribute to the firm's overall growth strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Debt Advisory team’s ‘Corporates’ strategy.
- Provide specialist debt advice in relation to financing strategy development and options evaluation.
- Execute new or (re)financing transactions, supporting corporates to raise financing on competitive, flexible terms.
- Execute financing and/or amending facilities to support M&A and other corporate transactional or restructuring activity.
- Provide capital structure or debt financing advice and stakeholder management assistance.
- Originate and execute debt advisory mandates from client opportunity development to transaction completion.
- Participate in relationship management with clients, sponsors and other multipliers.
- Leverage wider firm client relationship managers or capability / sector teams to originate new business opportunities.
- Support clients across the United Kingdom, including cross-border transactions or international capital flows.
- Lead the ‘Corporates’ Debt Advisory service offering.
- Play a key role in furthering KPMG’s debt advisory market presence.
- Lead the origination of deal flow using a network of contacts.
- Manage internal relationships to harness the strength and breadth of senior relationships.
- Ensure rigorous and efficient execution delivery, supporting high quality of delivery and client satisfaction.
- Develop, coach and motivate an experienced team.
- Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties.
- Be central to all key decision making and play a vital role in the continued development and success of the Debt Advisory and supporting firm growth.
Requirements
- Strong academic & technical background (ACA, CFA, ACT, MBA or equivalent).
- Significant debt financing experience including lending and/or within debt advisory in an investment bank, Big 4 or equivalent financial advisory business, debt advisory boutique, private equity team, or corporate treasury role.
- A proven and demonstrable track record of materially contributing to the successful origination of debt advisory mandates or lead debt structuring roles.
- Significant transactional experience with a demonstrable record of deal execution across all phases of the transaction cycle from strategy formulation to completion.
- Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Demonstrated experience of financial modelling.
- Excellent communication skills with the authority and credibility to gain respect both internally and externally with people at all levels.
- Personable approach, possessing the ability to create confidence and trust with colleagues and clients alike.
- Proven track record in building, motivating and empowering teams.
- Experience of managing and developing teams of high calibre people.
- Personal drive to deliver results and ambition to make an impact in a growing team.
