About the Role

The Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) Credit Chief Operating Officer (COO) team provides business support to the GCIB Credit function, managing credit relationships for wholesale clients. The team supports the business's growth strategy while adhering to risk appetite and underwriting standards. This role is crucial for supporting increased EEA borrower activity due to CRD6 requirements, ensuring regulatory adherence and legal entity governance.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of EMEA legal entity booking selection approvals.
  • Performing reconciliations and reporting for facilities within Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) scope.
  • Supporting pipeline tracking and legal entity reporting activities.
  • Assisting with CRD6-related project delivery and implementation activities.
  • Producing management information and reporting to support business governance processes.
  • Working with stakeholders across GCIB, Credit, Risk, Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Technology teams.
  • Supporting the development, maintenance, and communication of Front Line Unit (FLU) procedures and guidance.
  • Serving as a point of contact and subject matter expert for designated processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting the monitoring and testing of controls through data analysis, issue identification, and remediation activities.
  • Assisting with regulatory examinations, internal audits, monitoring activities, and inspection reviews.
  • Supporting governance forums through the preparation of management information, metrics, and dashboard reporting.
  • Providing guidance and support to stakeholders to ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives and the implementation of operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in business support, credit, risk management, operations, finance or a related function.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and enhance day-to-day processes.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high regard for data quality and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of syndicated loan agreements.
  • Ability to lead and execute deliverables while maintaining a positive and resilient approach during periods of pressure, change, or ambiguity.
  • Experience using AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to support business activities and productivity improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership, Compliance, Audit, Credit Review, and other key stakeholders.
