About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior or Principal Hydrologist to lead and contribute to high-profile Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) projects across the UK, supporting multiple water companies with developing hydrology for their WRMPs.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the hydrological and water management elements and WRMP inputs in recent AMP cycles.
- Develop rainfall runoff models and calibrate them.
- Apply wider hydrology approaches for water resources applications in England and Wales.
- Assess climate change resilience.
- Produce high-quality client and stakeholder/regulator facing deliverables.
- Communicate effectively and write high-quality concise reports.
- Collaborate with other sectors/disciplines to deliver hydrological aspects of projects.
Requirements
- A track record of contributing to the hydrological and water management elements and WRMP inputs in recent AMP cycles.
- Experience in the development of rainfall runoff models, together with a sound understanding of model calibration techniques.
- A solid understanding of wider hydrology approaches that are often required for water resources applications in England and Wales.
- Some familiarity with demand management and water resources modelling approaches.
- A good understanding of the latest UK water resources management regulations including the Water Resources Planning Guidelines.
- An understanding of approaches to assessing climate change resilience.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write high quality concise reports.
- Working collaboratively with other sectors/disciplines to deliver the hydrological aspects of a wide range of challenging and engaging projects.
