About the Role
The hyperexponential Delivery Engineering team is a unique blend of engineers, actuaries, mathematicians and data scientists. We specialize in handling the most difficult and interesting problems our customers face, requiring a combination of technical depth, market expertise, and hx Renew knowledge. You will become an expert on the hx platform, pushing its limits and uncovering innovative solutions. This role offers the opportunity to shape cutting-edge technology alongside bright, ambitious professionals in the tech and insurance industries.
Responsibilities
- Learn the hx modelling platform and ship models independently within days.
- Build and maintain models in Python using modern approaches for seamless integration.
- Collaborate with customer actuarial teams, partner developers, and internal colleagues to solve complex coding problems.
- Contribute to the development of best-practice guidance for Python model building.
- Review and test models as part of the daily quality assurance process.
- Support the creation and improvement of internal and external training and development materials.
- Continuously refine and improve model development standards and ways of working.
Requirements
- Production-grade experience with strong Python skills.
- Experience applying predictive modelling or advanced analytics methods.
- Self-starter attitude with the ability to operate autonomously in a high-trust, high-accountability environment.
- Proactively drive your own development.
- Passion for experimenting with new approaches and technologies.
- Willingness to work directly with non-technical stakeholders to understand their challenges.
- Comfort tackling ambiguous or open-ended problems.
- Commitment and conviction to building something remarkable.
