About the Role
StayFriends, a brand of Ströer Connections GmbH, is the leading website for finding former school friends in Germany and other European countries. With over 20 million users and several thousand new members daily, we operate several continuously growing websites in Europe. Wonda is the newest brand of Ströer Connections GmbH and helps parents find childcare. The uncomplicated placement of nannies with parents is done via a website that matches the right people together so that parents can know their child is in the best hands. We are looking for a Senior Accountant (m/f/d) in full-time at the Berlin location as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and support IFRS accounting.
- Responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting, including managing payment transactions.
- Reconcile accounts, maintain booking data, and clarify complex booking issues and balance sheet questions.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations within the Ströer Group and support the preparation of the consolidated financial statements.
- Act as a point of contact for auditors, tax advisors, and internal departments, and support the tax team with tax-related questions.
- Prepare and submit VAT, OSS, and EC sales lists (ESL) and continuously develop accounting processes.
Requirements
- Completed commercial apprenticeship with further training as a certified accountant (IHK) or a comparable degree.
- Several years of professional experience in financial accounting and auditing, ideally in a corporate environment.
- Sound knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and ideally additional knowledge of IFRS.
- Proficient in Microsoft Business Central (Navision) and MS Excel.
- Very good German language skills and good English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Structured and independent work style, with the ability to confidently coordinate technical content with other departments.
