About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Care Assistant to provide vital support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their dignity, comfort, and independence. This role offers excellent flexibility, allowing you to pick up shifts that fit around your lifestyle and existing commitments.
Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with their daily routines, including washing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Prompting or safely administering medication in strict accordance with individualised care plans.
- Helping prepare nutritious meals and ensuring clients are adequately hydrated throughout the day.
- Providing emotional support, engaging in friendly conversation, and identifying any changes in a client's health or wellbeing to report back to the management team.
- Maintaining accurate, detailed, and up-to-date daily care logs.
Requirements
- Familiarity with assisted living, nursing home environments, or specialized care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients is highly preferred.
- Transferable skills from retail, hospitality, or a strong desire to enter the care giving field are valuable.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Hospitable demeanour.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Successful applicants will be required to hold or undertake an Enhanced DBS Check.
- Essential care certificates are preferred, though full training will be provided.
