About the Role
CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience on real-world water and infrastructure projects. You will work alongside industry-leading engineers on a diverse portfolio of municipal, federal, and industrial projects, collaborating with experienced professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate engineering solutions to support project analyses, reporting, and design.
- Assist with the development of engineering calculations, technical reports, project documentation, and presentations.
- Gain hands-on experience using tools such as ArcGIS, Fathom, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
- Work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support project deliverables and solve engineering challenges.
- Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to client and project interactions.
- Assist with fieldwork and construction management activities, providing a firsthand look at projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Build your professional network while developing technical skills that complement your academic experience.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelors in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field is required.
- An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
