Fortune 100 information technology company seeks a Director, State and Local Government Affairs to represent company interests before state and local government officials to advance policy priorities and business objectives, including data center project delivery. This role supports the state and local government affairs team by representing company interests with third-party groups, monitoring policy, and understanding how external decisions may impact business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Represent company interests before state and local government officials.
- Advance company policy priorities and objectives.
- Support data center project delivery.
- Represent company interests with third-party groups and events.
- Monitor state and local policy impacting the company.
- Maintain a strong understanding of company operations to identify policy impacts on business initiatives.
- Brief and staff senior-level executives.
- Manage contract lobbyists and represent corporate interests with external resources.
- Represent the company at external-facing policy and political events.
- Act with the highest integrity and adhere to applicable laws and company values.
- Travel as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public policy at the state and local level.
- Thorough understanding of technology policy.
- Experience working with, serving, and influencing state and local government agencies.
- Relationships with state and local officials, including executive and legislative branches, regulatory officials, and municipal government.
- Ability to align the impact of state and local policy with business interests.
- Develop and execute strategies to lead and shape complex initiatives and solutions.
- Ability to self-direct, prioritize, balance, and meet conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to reduce complex terms and concepts into readily understandable concepts for policymakers.
- Commitment to acting with the highest integrity and strict adherence to applicable laws and company values.
