About the Role
Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking an experienced Plumbing Engineer/Designer to lead plumbing designs and support construction administration on diverse projects including healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and educational buildings. This role offers career growth opportunities in building and leading a regional plumbing practice and shaping standards and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead plumbing piping designs and prepare construction documents.
- Perform plumbing calculations including fixture counts, booster pump head, ejector pump head, domestic hot water loads (including heat pump design), storm water, and condensate collection.
- Coordinate with ownership, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
- Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field reports.
- Adhere to QA/QC policies and escalate issues as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
- Assist with Business Development (BD) opportunities when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
- Valid PE license or CPD certification.
- Proficient in Revit (BIM).
- Strong plumbing design experience (commercial, healthcare, process, multifamily residential and/or manufacturing).
- Clear communicator, organized, solution-oriented, able to work independently.
- Must be located within a commutable distance of Glumac’s Sacramento, San Francisco, or San Diego offices.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
