About the Role
This Safety internship offers a hands-on, real-world learning experience focused on ensuring the safety of construction projects and personnel. You will develop skills, learn programs, regulations, and guidelines essential for maintaining a safe work environment, while supporting field teams and gaining exposure to construction management.
Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program, including developing site safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor construction project activities to ensure compliance with government regulations, client policies, and company procedures.
- Establish and monitor safe working conditions for employees.
- Provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing performance tracking and reporting metrics.
- Review project work plans for accuracy and conformance with standards.
- Assist in safety program audits, coaching, and regular onsite training.
- Carry out duties in varying work environments, including diverse weather conditions and terrain.
- Travel and relocate as required for projects.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
- Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic.
- Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Ability to work with all levels in the organization, from craft to leadership.
