About the Role

Lead the strategy for Tillamook's established branded cheese business, driving long-range plans, product improvements, line extensions, and P&L stewardship. This cross-functional role requires strong relationship building, presentation, and project management skills to support field sales, partner with marketing, and ensure successful product launches and market growth.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold product and brand strategy as the internal champion of owned cheese segments.
  • Oversee development of category strategy, objectives, and implementation of annual plans, tactics, and budgets.
  • Define product segment strategies to grow the total cheese portfolio, including product offerings, positioning, and pricing.
  • Analyze consumer, customer, and market trends to recommend actions for sales and profit objectives.
  • Initiate research projects and develop insights to drive strategic decisions.
  • Manage product P&L, set pricing, analyze margin targets, and communicate profit variances.
  • Develop strategy briefs for new products, packaging, and communications.
  • Participate in customer calls and market visits to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee packaging design projects for the existing portfolio.
  • Ensure projects stay on track with vendors.
  • Collaborate with sales to form merchandising strategies for the current portfolio.
  • Manage SKU rationalization.
  • Manage category scorecard reporting.
  • Understand manufacturing, packaging, out-of-store marketing, in-store marketing, and sales processes.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a brand, ideally consumer packaged goods, with input on manufacturing, sales, and marketing decisions.
  • Direct experience owning accountability for meeting project objectives.
  • Experience in product improvement projects, including aligning cross-functional teams and successful market launches.
  • Experience delivering presentations to category buyers and executives.
  • Experience owning a P&L and delivering profitable growth in an established category.
  • Experience in scoping and executing primary and secondary research, and leveraging insights for sales presentations and product marketing decisions.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing and deriving insights from scan and panel data (e.g., IRI, Nielsen).
  • Solid understanding of how food manufacturers/marketers go to market through retail or foodservice channels.
  • Experience leading teams and indirect management of cross-functional teams.
