About the Role
Concentra is hiring an experienced and self-driven Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide healthcare support at an onsite clinic located at a client's construction site in Jersey City, NJ. This role involves providing emergency medical and trauma care, performing triage, and delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
- Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing ancillary testing such as vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing.
- Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
- Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures or the need for additional assistance.
- Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by a clinician and triage emergent patients.
- Assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care.
- Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician and in accordance with regulations.
- Administer prescribed first-aid treatment, including splints, oxygen, intravenous injections, minor wound treatment, or artificial resuscitation.
- Communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities for instructions and arrangements.
- Complete quality assurance activities on equipment, medical devices, and testing processes.
- Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and the onsite clinic.
- Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.
- Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping.
- Notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or facility issues.
- Inform patients of expected wait times.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
- Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required.
- Assist client with wellness activities.
- Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced EMT.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Must meet credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations.
- Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable.
- Continuing education is required to maintain license and perform job.
- 3 years of job-related experience.
- 911 experience required.
