About the Role
The Career Case Manager supports clients by coordinating services for education, job training, and employment. This role involves developing service plans, providing follow-up support, and collaborating with internal and external professionals to help clients achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Maintain client caseloads by supporting resume building, job applications, interviewing, and employment-related soft skills.
- Maintain frequent contact with clients per agency policy.
- Develop individualized career plans with clients, identifying short and long-term goals and resources.
- Track and document client goal acquisition and support transitions.
- Apply knowledge of regional labor market needs and trends to support client career paths.
- Coordinate with social services professionals to support client employment stability.
- Intervene effectively in crisis situations, developing interventions and follow-up plans.
- Enroll clients in programs, obtain information, and complete reports to meet performance targets.
- Maintain complete and accurate client records in ECM and other databases, adhering to data entry requirements.
- Adhere to confidentiality protocols for electronic and paper files.
- Collaborate with the GCT Career Advancement Team and Business Solutions team.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of Career Advancement Services in ECM.
- Pull reports as needed for the department.
- Participate in community collaborations and inter-agency discussions.
- Act as Intake & Eligibility Specialist for the Outlying Career Center.
- Screen potential clients and conduct thorough intakes based on career or educational goals.
- Communicate programs and services, and connect clients to community resources.
- Maintain adherence to scheduling protocols by being physically present at the career center during assigned shifts.
- Manage and maintain positive working relationships with agency and staff at partner site locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in education, business, or a social services related field, or an Associate degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with socially disadvantaged individuals (un-housed, ex-offenders, low literacy, individuals with disabilities).
- Knowledge of client assessment skills, community resources coordination, career planning principles, employability skills, and crisis intervention.
- Valid driver's license, proof of valid insurance, and ability to travel for work.
- Ability to conduct and/or translate training sessions bilingually is preferred.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
