About the Role

The STEM Alliance is seeking a Director of Resource Development to lead fundraising efforts and secure philanthropic support for STEM education programs. This role is crucial in empowering clients with STEM skills, leading to higher-paying jobs and addressing the digital divide.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a collaborative member of the Development Team, building financial strategy.
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback to team members.
  • Set development and fundraising goals and strategy in conjunction with the Executive Team.
  • Achieve annual fundraising goals through relationship building, events, and campaigns.
  • Establish and implement structures to grow solicitation of major gifts, corporate investments, and philanthropic support.
  • Secure diverse funding (corporate, individual, government) for new initiatives and infrastructure.
  • Reinforce the integration of an equity lens into external work and internal operations.
  • Work with and support the Board of Directors in fundraising and volunteer roles.
  • Leverage data to build a diverse donor base and report progress to leadership.
  • Develop and implement a stewardship program to cultivate donor relationships.
  • Oversee systems for donation documentation and acknowledgements.
  • Foster corporate volunteer engagement opportunities.
  • Supervise team members and provide feedback.

Requirements

  • Experience stewarding and securing five and six figure gifts from individuals and institutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or other industry-related field.
  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience.
  • At least three years in upper management.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry principles, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency with Google Drive and Google Suite applications.
