About the Role
As a Market Director, you will execute the division's strategic plan and guide your team to meet growth and customer retention targets. You will lead Commercial Bankers, Business Development Officers, and Portfolio Management staff to expand market share, grow the portfolio, and deepen customer relationships. This role focuses on leading the growth and development of the Innovation Banking team's portfolio within the Regional Banking business line. You will work with your own network and top-tier customers while also supporting your team in credit structuring, portfolio management, and market responsiveness.
Responsibilities
- Support regional and national leadership in executing the Bank's strategic plan, focusing on growing the loan and deposit portfolio of the assigned region or business line.
- Execute the tactical strategy for transaction pitches and negotiation of term sheets.
- Guide the credit structuring development process, customer assessment, and presentation to loan committees.
- Manage portfolio health and proactively address deteriorating loan performance, mitigating risks from market developments, service delivery complications, and product adoption.
- Foster strong working relationships with executive and senior leaders in partner departments and facilitate team compliance with technical processes, risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer service.
- Lead and develop a team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and training.
Requirements
- 9+ years of related experience or similar field.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.
- Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards, and practices.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, pricing dynamics, and market-specific awareness.
- Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
- May require up to 50% travel.
