About the Role

This position is responsible for all aspects of store operations, providing an exceptional shopping experience, ensuring a safe workplace, and maximizing company profitability by managing store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of store operations.
  • Provide an exceptional shopping experience to every customer.
  • Ensure the store is a safe workplace and provides a safe shopping experience.
  • Maximize company profitability by managing store operations.
  • Read and review profit and loss statements to identify areas of improvement.
  • Utilize computer and point of sale systems for inventory management and cycle counts.
  • Maintain inventory integrity by supervising cycle count and inventory counting processes.
  • Assist the General Manager with human resources or loss prevention issues.
  • Supervise cash handling practices and communicate with the corporate finance department.
  • Coordinate facility management to ensure safety and security.
  • Assist the General Manager in managing controllable expenses and driving profitability.
  • Ensure brand and operating standards meet or exceed expectations.
  • Achieve and maintain store presentation standards.
  • Support and enhance customer service focus by creating a friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and quick environment.
  • Engage customer focus during the pick-up and check-out process.
  • Handle claims and other KCM/MOD duties as needed.
  • Ensure maximum scheduling coverage, especially during peak traffic periods.
  • Interface with corporate headquarters employees.
  • Record and report inventory, HR, and cash office records.
  • Ensure web orders, including samples, are shipped.
  • Manage checkbook for P&L and assist with operational budget/spending.
  • Assist the stales team with resets, displays, and display credits.
  • Administer W/C matters, associated claims, and maintain OSHA logs.
  • Direct and supervise truck appointments, communicate scheduling, and manage scheduling issues.
  • Assist with customer pick-ups, auditing storage, and maintaining pre-sales/FDX.
  • Participate in sales resets in accordance with the warehouse team.
  • Review and assess associate performance.
  • Train, develop, supervise, and define workload for associates.
  • Ensure store adherence to COP/SOPs.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure performance.
  • Monitor associate retention and career development.
  • Address and document unsatisfactory performance and policy violations.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling, hiring, payroll, and business planning processes.
  • Monitor, maintain, and follow company policies.
  • Support company expectations and systems.
  • Be available to open and/or close the store effectively.
  • Perform additional managerial duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years retail management experience.
  • Proven ability to direct operations.
  • Ability to perform in a high volume, highly complex location.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in recruiting, hiring, and training associates.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment in managing a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change with a sense of urgency.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must work well under pressure.
