About the Role
As a Senior Tax Specialist, US Taxation, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's U.S. tax function across compliance, reporting and advisory matters. This position is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and fully realize your potential within a caring and trustworthy company.
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, review and analysis of U.S. tax provisions, including current and deferred tax under IFRS, while ensuring accurate balances and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Support U.S.-Canada tax matters, including withholding tax, treaty interpretation and other cross-border issues, by analyzing facts and contributing practical recommendations.
- Support tax due diligence for transactions, reorganizations and strategic initiatives by identifying key issues, risks and opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted resource on U.S. tax matters by providing clear guidance and practical insight to internal partners.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Actuarial, Investments and other stakeholders to assess implications and support coordinated decision-making.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge in U.S. income tax accounting.
- Strong technical expertise and analytical capability in U.S. taxation.
- Strong judgement and attention to detail in assessing tax issues and supporting well-reasoned conclusions.
- 7 years of experience in U.S. corporate taxation, ideally within financial institutions, insurance, investments or other complex business environments.
- Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. Sponsorship for employment visas is not supported.
