About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Equity Research Associate or VP to join our U.S. Financials team. The associate will be an integral member of the team, working closely with the senior analyst and two other team members to develop and market all equity research products. The role requires strong analytical/critical thinking skills, solid communication skills (with a drive for client interaction), a passion for the stock market, keen attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. The work environment involves collaboration, coordination, and a shared knowledge base, but also values independence, initiative, idea generation, and ownership.

Responsibilities

Building and maintaining detailed company models (IS/BS/CF)
Analyzing financial statements and news related to industry coverage
Analyze company filings (10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases) and company transcripts
Writing equity research reports and formulating investment theses
Participation in site visits and management meetings
Maintaining, sourcing, and analyzing industry data
Communicating investment recommendations to internal and external clients
Collaborate in developing tools and processes to gather industry and company-related news for dissemination
Work to establish industry, regulatory, and political relationships to help predict industry trends or company-related events

Requirements

Fully licensed
Minimum of three to five plus years of equity research experience in the U.S. Financials space
Strong financial background
Desire to help create, launch, and support new research
Strong accounting and finance skills
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work on a fast-paced equity research team
Demonstrated use of AI in the workplace
A combination of writing skills, technical knowledge, and skills in equity research, finance, or accounting demonstrated through relevant work and educational experience is required
Prior industry experience in the brokerage, asset management, and exchange sectors is not required but could be a benefit
Clear and proven track record of achievement throughout education and career
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and comfort managing various/shifting priorities
Client service mindset and ability to prioritize client needs with accuracy
Ability to interact professionally with company management teams and clients
Keen interest in and demonstrated understanding of Equity Research
Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and strong attention to detail
Superior work ethic, self-motivated, and ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Ability to manage a heavy workload and meet stringent deadlines
Flexibility to work irregular and extended hours
Solid technology skills with robust knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and/or FactSet
Familiarity with Dealogic, Preqin, and Morningstar would also be a positive
