About the Role
As a software engineer, you will exemplify high code quality, guide others, and possess at least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or similar role. You are experienced in creating automated testing, applying design patterns, and other engineering best practices. You are an expert in Python, fluent in SQL, and have developed maintainable data pipelines. You are hands-on with architecting solutions, having designed several data pipelines from start to finish, including technology selection, building, and testing. You are comfortable with asynchronous systems like APIs, streaming, and multithreading, understanding how to monitor and maintain them. You possess a product mindset, considering the business impact of your work and using high-level goals for prioritization. You excel at communicating complex concepts simply to both technical and non-technical audiences. You have working knowledge of ML/AI application deployment and monitoring, motivated to advance data-driven initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to develop pipelines and ETL tasks for insight extraction.
- Understand product requirements and translate them into actionable project plans for execution.
- Establish data architecture processes and practices that can be scheduled, automated, replicated, and serve as standards for other teams.
- Collaborate with team's Data Leadership to identify and push forward meaningful projects across the commercial organization.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or similar role.
- Experience in creating automated testing.
- Experience applying design patterns and other engineering best practices.
- Experience designing several data pipelines from start to finish, including technology selection, building, and testing.
- Comfortable identifying and applying APIs, streaming, multithreading, and other asynchronous approaches.
- Understanding of how to monitor and maintain asynchronous systems.
- Ability to use high-level goals to prioritize work.
- Ability to explain complex concepts simply to both technical and non-technical people.
- Working knowledge of how ML/AI applications are deployed and monitored.
- Motivated to advance data-driven initiatives.
