About the Role
This paid 12-week internship, typically from June to August, offers training and mentoring while providing hands-on experience in developing graphics-focused stories, interactive projects, and data-driven deep dives. The intern will cover a variety of stories both in the office and in the field, with opportunities to engage the audience and collaborate with reporting teams across the newsroom.
Responsibilities
- Report and write graphics- and data-driven articles for digital and print editions.
- Conceive story ideas and collaborate with editors and developers to enhance storytelling.
- Partner with newsroom reporters to produce unique, high-impact journalism.
- Create assets to promote and distribute the team's work.
Requirements
- Full-time commitment for summer 2026.
- Must be based in the Bay Area for summer 2026.
- Weekend, evening, and holiday work may be required as news warrants.
- All college students, including community college students or those who will have recently completed their associate's or bachelor's degree, are encouraged to apply.
