About the Role
Brookfield is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate, Human Resources, to support the HR function for the Brookfield Private Wealth business. This role will play a key part in delivering high-touch, best-in-class HR services within a dynamic, performance-driven environment, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle and ensuring HR best practices and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, providing guidance and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Ensure HR practices are compliant with employment laws and internal policies.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, including employee handbooks and policy manuals.
- Support the annual performance review process, ensuring consistency and alignment with business objectives.
- Assist in identifying development needs and supporting employee growth initiatives.
- Assist in the coordination and analysis of annual compensation reviews, including benchmarking and internal equity reviews.
- Collaborate with internal partners to manage employee benefits administration and employee communications.
- Support hiring efforts by helping to manage interview logistics, offer processes, and candidate experience.
- Partner with internal recruiting teams and hiring managers to align recruitment strategies with business needs.
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the firm.
- Support offboarding processes including exit interviews, system access changes, and final documentation.
- Work with legal counsel and internal teams to manage U.S. immigration processes, including visa applications, renewals, and compliance tracking.
- Maintain and update HRIS systems and personnel records.
- Participate in and lead cross-functional HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 3–4 years (Associate) of progressive HR experience; financial services or professional services experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and compensation fundamentals.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems a plus.
