This field-based role requires candidates to live within a reasonable distance of Syracuse, NY, executing brand strategy and tactics to maximize sales performance while prioritizing the patient and adhering to AbbVie's business code of conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance.
  • Effectively handle objections and gain calls to action to close sales.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to optimize coverage and frequency to key customers for maximum access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, market landscape, competitors, and disease/product knowledge, sharing market intelligence with the team.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition and identify/develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates.
  • Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field.
  • Effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
  • Build strong customer relationships.
  • Develop customer needs solving capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required.
  • Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach.
  • Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills.
  • Offers innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges.
  • Understands and leverages findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
  • Recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools.
  • Possesses strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Operates effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Provides impact with ideas for the larger organization and anticipates and responds to changes.
  • Influences others and is viewed as a credible and respected role model and resource among peers.

  • Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements.
  • Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, including overnight attendance at training events and sales meetings.
  • An essential requirement is to satisfy all applicable healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations.
  • Must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials.
  • HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination, fingerprinting, and specific licenses.
