About the Role
ICM America LLC seeks an SAP Manufacturing Consultant (PP / PM / MES) to join our growing, dynamic team. This role is focused on manufacturing operations – production planning, plant maintenance and shop floor / MES integration – with particular emphasis on continuous flow, process and plastic profile extrusion environments.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the full life cycle of SAP client engagements, including assessment, planning, design, configuration, testing, training, and support services, with a concentration on the plant floor and the manufacturing value chain.
- Assist clients with assessing current manufacturing and ERP environments, value stream and process mapping, documenting requirements, and presenting findings and recommendations.
- Configure and support demand management, MRP, capacity planning, work centers, BOMs, routings, and production order lifecycles for repetitive and continuous flow operations.
- Configure functional locations, equipment hierarchies, task lists, maintenance plans, and the notification/work order lifecycle.
- Support preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies, spare parts integration, and downtime/OEE reporting.
- Support the design and integration of MES and plant systems with SAP S/4HANA.
- Apply continuous and process manufacturing practices, including co-products, phase management, in-line quality inspection, and batch determination.
- Apply specific expertise to plastic profile and building products manufacturing, including die and tooling management, extrusion line scheduling, and changeover minimization.
- Support project planning and management activities, including developing work plans, status reports, and managing team schedules.
- Plan and direct client team meetings, including interviews, process white boarding, and documentation of observations.
- Support the design of new/upgraded SAP applications, including functional design, documentation, testing, and training.
- Conduct research to identify best practices, issue remediation ideas, and process/technology options.
- Support new client sales activities, including attending sales meetings and identifying client needs.
Requirements
- Possess relevant SAP configuration and/or operational experiences/certifications in PP and/or PM.
- Working knowledge of adjacent areas including PP-PI, REM, MM, QM, EWM/WM, and CO product costing.
- S/4HANA project experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience integrating SAP with MES/MOM platforms using IDoc, BAPI, OData, or similar interfaces.
- Familiarity with barcode/RFID data collection and plant historians.
- Practical understanding of continuous flow, process, and repetitive manufacturing principles.
- Plastic profile extrusion, compounding, or building products experience is a strong plus.
- Self-starter demonstrated by obtaining and maintaining professional and technical certifications.
- Strong understanding of business operations, including manufacturing, plant operations, supply chain, and finance/accounting.
- Proficiency in one or two industries: Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Automotive, High-Tech, Plastics & Building Products, or Food & Consumer Packaged Goods.
- Ability to learn and master technology tools such as SAP, Jira, MS Office, and MS Project.
- High integrity and positive attitude.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to client manufacturing sites as required.
- Ability to communicate in other languages is a plus, particularly German.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in industrial, mechanical, chemical or plastics engineering, supply chain, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
