About the Role
The Senior Estimator position is responsible for creating and managing estimates and jobs across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This role involves client interaction, developing competitive estimates using Xactimate software, managing projects to completion, reviewing budgets, and communicating progress to clients and management.
Responsibilities
- Create accurate scopes with minimal over/under estimations.
- Generate accurate floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches in Xactimate Sketch.
- Utilize working knowledge of applicable building codes.
- Create and adhere to budgets, addressing any overages.
- Apply BELFOR naming conventions for all estimate-related documents.
- Maintain a construction schedule and collaborate with trades and management to ensure timely completion.
- Identify resource needs and present solutions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in various restoration techniques including source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, contents, and deodorization.
- Proficient with investigative demolition, controlled demolition, decontamination structure cleaning, and deodorization services.
- Participate in BELFOR University training, aiming for an 85% score on the Estimator Level certification test.
- Independently manage workload.
- Maintain vehicle safety, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Complete all required accident, injury, and incident reporting forms promptly.
- Possess strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Assist in development and improvement efforts to establish BELFOR USA Group, Inc. as a world-class industry leader.
- Comply with all company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
Requirements
- Expand and maintain local clientele, primarily insurance adjusters, community business owners, schools, and municipalities, with a book of business of approximately $2M - $4M.
- Serve as the primary contact for owners, adjusters, and consultants.
- Manage scope development, negotiation, and agreements with customers.
- Utilize BELFOR standard formatting for estimates.
- Coordinate after-hours emergency services including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage, and vandalism.
- Consistently identify potential site hazards such as asbestos, lead paint, and mold.
- Conduct oneself professionally and courteously at all times.
- Be proactive in conveying information and responsive to requests.
- Apply industry TPA Program standards and ensure compliance.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Work under time constraints to meet specific deadlines.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and a keen sense of safeguarding property and information.
- Attend required BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses.
