About the Role

Curative is seeking a Senior Account Executive to manage a book of mid-market and small group accounts in Texas. This role involves direct client and broker relationship ownership, with informal leadership responsibilities to support team development and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of mid-market and small group accounts, serving as the primary relationship owner for assigned employer groups and their brokers
  • Manage the full account lifecycle: onboarding, renewals, plan changes, escalated service issues, and retention strategy
  • Partner with brokers to support new business proposals, renewal negotiations, and plan design recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and applicable Texas state insurance regulations across the assigned book
  • Track and report on renewal status, retention, and at-risk accounts using internal systems
  • Serve as a go-to resource for less-tenured TX Account Executives on plan design questions, broker negotiation strategy, and complex case escalations
  • Assist the Director in onboarding and ramping new AEs, including shadowing, role-play practice, and informal skills coaching
  • Help standardize and document best practices, templates, and workflows for the TX AE team
  • Help coordinate backup for coverage of peers' accounts during absences, leave, or high-volume renewal periods
  • Flag systemic issues, training gaps, or process breakdowns to the Director proactively
  • Represent the AE team's perspective in cross-functional projects as delegated by the Director
  • Work closely with Underwriting, Compliance, and Operations to resolve complex account issues
  • Partner with the Director on special projects, including process improvement initiatives and team training materials

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as an Account Executive or Account Manager in group health insurance, preferably with a carrier, broker, or TPA
  • Demonstrated experience managing mid-market and small group accounts in the Texas market
  • Working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and Texas Insurance Code requirements relevant to group health plans
  • Strong track record of renewal retention and broker relationship management
  • Comfort mentoring or informally coaching less experienced colleagues, without formal management authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in broker- and client-facing contexts
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and account management tools
  • State Health, Life and Variable Annuity license
