About the Role

SANY’s Syracuse Academy of Science is seeking dynamic and creative Middle School Science Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is ideal for both new and experienced educators seeking a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum.
Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods aligned with charter requirements.
Prepare students for standardized tests relevant to the content area.
Utilize analytics and data to drive instruction and promote learning.
Welcome regular feedback, accountability, and the rewards of serving students and communities.
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred.
New York State Certification required.
Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education.
Experience with diverse student populations or in an urban setting is a plus.
Prior teaching experience is preferred, and novice teachers are encouraged to apply.
Possess a growth mindset, flexibility, and adaptability to change.
Be intrinsically motivated and compassionate.
Have a strong conviction that all students can succeed.
Demonstrate the ability to receive and implement feedback effectively.
Be comfortable using data and analytics to drive instruction and promote learning.
