About the Role
The Sr. Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be part of a growing, dynamic team responsible for developing new or existing opportunities in the global IT market. This role requires working with customers from ground to executive-level, managing projects with internal and external teams, and growing the business. Customer and solution focus, business continuity, and support are key factors for this position. The FAE must collaborate with multiple departments to ensure new and existing projects align with customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of FAEs to support revenue growth at assigned accounts.
- Provide solution architecture and presentation skills to expand Fortune 1000 account penetration and loyalty.
- Collaborate with sales and extended teams to understand end-user customer business and partner requirements, providing optimized technical solutions.
- Offer technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee the implementation of solutions.
- Engage effectively with C-level technical customers, building and maintaining trust.
- Act as a highly technical problem solver understanding system architecture and hardware/software interaction.
- Possess basic hardware debug skills.
- Manage and lead product hardware and software engineers during product development.
- Manage and lead teams during the investigation and resolution of field problems.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of firmware, drivers, OS, applications, and their interaction in system issues.
- Develop and review systems solutions, technical bid responses, and presentations.
- Work cross-departmentally to ensure customer satisfaction and timely issue resolution.
- Build and demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions that meet or exceed customer business needs.
- Present the corporate brand, product messaging, and solutions to customers.
- Visit on-site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution.
- Travel up to 25%.
Requirements
- Bachelors' or Masters' degree in an engineering discipline; computer science, computer engineering, and electrical engineering preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and business sense.
- Minimum 8 years of related experience with Compute/Storage Server, Data Center, or IT Infrastructure experience.
- Strong background and experience with x86-based server architecture.
- Solid hardware system expertise and diagnostics skills.
- Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization platforms is a plus.
- Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplines.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
