About the Role

We are seeking a Product Lead to manage the Family Safety capability domain, focusing on household protection across various consumer needs and life stages. This role involves defining the capability roadmap, setting product requirements, and collaborating with engineering, design, and business teams to deliver key features. You will own the capability roadmap, define product requirements for engineering, work with the UX team on feature presentation, and make strategic decisions on build vs. extend vs. vendor options. The role requires navigating device OS complexity and regulatory constraints, driving decisions without formal authority.

Responsibilities

Own the Family Safety capability roadmap, prioritizing the backlog and determining release schedules.
Define product capabilities, balancing competing priorities across multiple household protection scenarios.
Make build vs. extend vs. vendor decisions, owning the strategic and economic case.
Write product requirements detailing capabilities for engineering, including edge cases, device constraints, and cross-surface implications.
Close open questions on capability definition by collaborating with UX, engineering, and legal/privacy teams.
Define success metrics for each capability.
Act as a liaison between UX, engineering, legal/privacy, business stakeholders, and partner product leadership.
Conduct planning and alignment sessions, driving decisions forward without formal authority.
Structure capabilities for integration via APIs and SDKs, enabling partners to build without heavy custom engineering.
Navigate device OS fragmentation, cross-device enforcement complexity, and platform-specific constraints.
Collaborate with legal, privacy, and government relations teams to manage compliance with regulations like COPPA and GDPR, and regional mandates.
Define how regulatory evolution impacts the capability roadmap and sequencing.
Navigate platform-specific constraints in conjunction with regulatory requirements.
Translate regulatory requirements into capability features to support business development and go-to-market opportunities.
Communicate capability priorities, tradeoffs, and timelines to senior leadership, UX, engineering, and product partners.
Write product briefs and strategy documents to drive decisions.

Requirements

3–8+ years of product management experience, including significant experience owning a consumer product with complexity (multi-device, multi-user, cross-platform, or regulatory constraint).
Demonstrated track record of shipping products end-to-end, from discovery through launch and iteration based on user feedback.
Strong technical fluency, with the ability to reason about device constraints, cross-device communication, API feasibility, and long-term architectural implications.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write product briefs and strategy memos that influence decisions and present complex tradeoffs crisply to senior leadership.
Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment across teams without direct authority, particularly between UX, engineering, and business stakeholders with competing priorities.
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools in product work, including requirements gathering, competitive analysis, documentation, and decision-making.
Experience in safety-critical or privacy-sensitive products (e.g., parental controls, identity, financial security, content moderation, health).
Background in family-oriented products, mobile security, or consumer protection.
Understanding of device OS constraints, mobile platform limitations, or cross-device enforcement.
Experience translating evolving regulations into product requirements and roadmap priorities, especially in regulated markets (EU, UK, US) or fast-moving regulatory environments.
Ownership mentality; taking ownership of decisions and outcomes, and seeing them through to completion.
Systems thinking ability; holding the full product in mind while executing quarterly work and understanding interdependencies.
Decisiveness under ambiguity; making calls on scope, priority, and tradeoffs with incomplete information.

High standards for clarity; identifying and resolving vague requirements before handing off to engineering.
