About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary, full-time Project Manager for the Business Product Management team. This role is crucial to Canadian Blood Services’ function as Canada’s Biological Lifeline. You will lead a significant digital transformation initiative to modernize a key business system supporting planning, scheduling, operations, and stakeholder services. Your responsibilities will include the planning, management, design, development, and implementation of a project aimed at enhancing digital capabilities, improving business continuity, reducing operational risk, and enabling future business transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or participate in the development of project business cases for complex, multi-year projects.
  • Work with the project team and steering committee to recruit project team members.
  • Oversee, support, and direct project team members to ensure engagement with the plan and effective accomplishment of project goals.
  • Monitor and document the overall project plan and budget, ensuring projects meet timelines, targets, and expectations.
  • Provide regular project status updates to key partners.
  • Coordinate project team, steering committee, and internal/external partner activities to develop project plans.
  • Define deliverables, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Establish timelines and communications, training strategies, implementation and evaluation strategies, risk management, costs, transition, and close-out plans.
  • Make decisions impacting project deliverables, costs, and timelines that may affect other business areas.
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate substantial risks with implications beyond the project.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years with ERP systems and interoperability with other information systems.
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in project management.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience working in a variety of business areas with a strong IT or systems focus.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in program or project management and leadership skills is required.
  • General management experience including accountability for budgets and people.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret business needs, and develop integrated, innovative solutions.
  • Ability to create a cross-functional team environment that promotes high performance.
  • Ability to deal with senior management and external stakeholders on highly complex or sensitive issues.

Salary/Compensations

  • $99,600 - $117,200
