About the Role
Team members play a vital role across various settings, working closely with others to ensure high-quality service and a well-maintained environment for clients. Through the Works Wonders program, 75% of labor hours within our contracts are designated for individuals with documented significant disabilities, providing meaningful employment opportunities. This position is within a secure facility and requires a Homeland Security background check.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate staff activities to ensure contract goals and objectives are accomplished in the mailroom and scanning unit.
- Assist with developing training programs for employees and conduct cross-training.
- Interact with internal and external customers professionally and promote the mission of Goodwill.
- Prepare reports and documentation for maintaining postal and DDS records.
- Understand all phases of the DDS mailroom, scanning unit, and switchboard.
- Reconcile quality concerns with staff and mailroom manager, making corrections as needed.
- Assist with payroll and personnel documentation.
- Ensure employees perform job duties properly and use equipment safely.
- Support mailroom manager in maintaining a level of 75% disability for TIBH standards.
- Order, stock, and distribute supplies; ensure equipment is cleaned and properly maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Provide mail processing and distribution service.
- Transform data by indexing and scanning documents.
- Ensure appropriate information from documents is input into the IRON DATA system.
- Perform quality control of each document.
Requirements
- High school/GED.
- Computer knowledge.
- Two years' experience in a mail processing center.
- Good communication skills for dealing with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of US Postal regulations.
- Ability to handle high stress situations.
- Knowledge of Goodwill services, community resources, and business networking.
- Texas Driver’s License, liability insurance, vehicle in good working condition, and good driving record.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Creative and flexible problem-solving abilities.
- Desire to work with employment and training services consumers, employees, and the public.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
- Ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to operate a telephone and keyboard.
- Post-offer background check is required.
