About the Role
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking an organized, adaptable, and customer-focused individual for an entry-level Patient Service Specialist position. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth front office operations and providing outstanding patient support.
Responsibilities
- Process referrals
- Schedule patients
- Complete the intake process
- Perform data entry
- Conduct insurance verification
- Obtain authorizations
- Review benefits with patients
- Collect copays
- Arrive and schedule patients
- Generate billing reports
- Generate closing reports
- Perform other tasks as needed
- Greet patients
- Answer phones
- Operate the front office of outpatient centers
- Support therapists and therapy assistants
- Perform daily cash balancing and weekly banking deposits
Requirements
- Must be organized, adaptable, and able to work well with others or independently
- Willingness to travel to other locations as needed
- High school diploma or GED required
- Customer service experience preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification preferred
- Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration preferred
