About the Role
The Field Service Engineer is a remote field-based position responsible for providing technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems within hospitals and healthcare facilities. This role involves responding to work orders, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, implementing preventive maintenance, and supporting sales and implementation teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide remote and on-site technical support for BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
- Respond to, evaluate, and prioritize work orders.
- Diagnose, service, and resolve issues regarding proprietary hardware and software system components.
- Log, track, and detail all work order activity.
- Implement a preventive maintenance program.
- Provide limited cross-functional support for Sales and Implementation teams.
- Provide efficient field services including installations, in-servicing, repair, preventive maintenance, calibration, and sales support.
- Maintain proper and accurate small parts inventory for service purposes.
- Continue training and self-development to learn company products and applications.
- Possess and maintain a solid understanding of corporate and service department procedures and policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 3 years of related combination Hardware/Software/IT experience supporting both proprietary and standard applications
- 24x7 on-call experience in a customer-facing/field service environment
- Computer electronics, Windows OS, network experience
- Must be able to work within defined processes and methodologies with minimal degree of supervision
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.
- Upon hire, must provide proof of and maintain current immunizations and obtain additional immunizations appropriate for the facility.
- Weightlifting requirement: minimum 70 pounds
