About the Role

Responsibilities
- Detect and diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints.
- Inspect and road test newly delivered vehicles.
- Stay informed on Federal, Provincial, and Municipal regulations, including hazardous waste disposal.
- Notify the Service Consultant and Shop Foreman of required additional work or deadline changes.
- Ensure customer vehicles are clean and report any incidents affecting their appearance or condition.
- Attend manufacturer-sponsored training courses for product updates.
- Report safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Perform work described in work orders efficiently and accurately.
- Test systems and components for proper function.
- Isolate components or systems causing issues.
- Drive vehicles for testing and use diagnostic equipment.
- Repair or replace automotive system components using specialized tools.
- Adjust and test repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect and test mechanical units to identify faults.
- Obtain and return parts from the Parts Department.
- Report defective or poorly functioning equipment to management.
- Ensure customer vehicles are clean post-repair.
- Supervise Apprentice Technicians as requested.
- Maintain a clean and tidy shop environment.
- Perform other tasks as required by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License.
- Clear Driver's Abstract.
- Technicians License.
- Ontario College of Trades membership.
- Knowledge and use of power, machine, and hand tools.
- Four years of direct work experience in automotive repairs and service.
- Extensive knowledge of different vehicles and their service needs.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly.
- Ability to work independently or as a team, managing time and workflow.
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
