About the Role
Carta is seeking talented salespeople to join the Investors team, focusing on selling fund administration services to Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Private Credit Funds. This role involves introducing clients to Carta's product offerings, managing sales cycles, and driving revenue through strategic prospecting.
Responsibilities
- Communicate the business impact of full product offerings to key decision makers.
- Demonstrate ability to influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building to identify and sell new opportunities.
- Own sales cycles that could be up to 12+ months.
- Understand customer needs and requirements and act as a trusted business advisor.
- Build and expand a network across the industry to enhance Carta's visibility and create new business opportunities.
- Drive revenue through strategic outbound prospecting.
- Own the entire sales lifecycle, from lead generation to close.
- Work with Delivery and R&D teams to devise the optimum operating model for prospects.
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy and sales plan that ensures consistent achievement of goals over the short and long-term.
- Support the Business Development team at industry events, conferences, and seminars.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 8+ years of sales experience.
- Ideally at least 5 years selling into private capital funds at a Fund Administrator or Fund Administration adjacent company.
- Experience with, and potentially existing contacts within, the private capital markets community (lawyers, investors, bankers, accountants, etc.) as well as within the General Partner / Limited Partner / PortCo communities.
- Understanding of fund structures (Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Private Credit).
- Experience managing a pipeline and closing large contracts.
- Proven ability to execute, especially negotiation and closing enterprise deals.
- Intellectually curious, fast learner.
