About the Role
This 12-week paid internship offers training and mentoring for a reporter to cover a variety of stories including city government, policy, transit, housing, and breaking news. The role requires a candidate who can hustle, work quickly, and compete to be first on stories, while maintaining high standards and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Report news for SFChronicle.com that may also publish in the Chronicle's print editions.
- Work closely with editors and other reporters.
- Collaborate with newsroom teams such as photo, video, and data.
- Compete to provide readers the timeliest and most authoritative information.
Requirements
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- Interns are expected to live in the Bay Area during the internship.
- Interns must work in our downtown San Francisco office at least three days a week.
