About the Role
The San Francisco Chronicle is seeking a reporting intern to join its food and wine team for the summer. This paid internship offers training, mentoring, and hands-on experience in a modern digital news operation, covering the Bay Area's dining and drinking scene.
Responsibilities
- Report and write news articles for the Chronicle and SFChronicle.com covering the Bay Area's restaurant, bar, and winery scene.
- Cover restaurant and bar openings and closings and other food- and drink-related news.
- Learn the operations of a fast-paced food news department, including social media.
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions.
- Assist critics with their on-the-ground reporting.
- Receive training and mentoring from editors and colleagues.
- Work and train within a cohort of summer interns.
Requirements
- Must be a college student (including community college) or have recently completed an associate or bachelor's degree.
- Include a portfolio of work or links to designs with brief explanations of your role in execution.
