About the Role

The Marketing Manager will manage and execute strategic marketing, communications, and account management efforts aimed at strengthening community engagement and advancing the Federation’s mission. This role holds primary ownership over a designated portfolio of internal departments, serving as a key strategic partner to internal stakeholders, leading project oversight, driving portfolio performance, and supervising the Marketing Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary marketing and communications liaison for assigned departments.
  • Build strong relationships with lay leaders and internal stakeholders.
  • Understand strategic objectives of assigned departments.
  • Deliver tailored marketing plans to drive event attendance, donor cultivation, membership growth, and community engagement.
  • Lead end-to-end project oversight and marketing strategies for all initiatives within the assigned portfolio.
  • Make independent operational and routine marketing decisions.
  • Utilize senior leadership for coaching, strategic communications counsel, and escalation support.
  • Generate content strategies and execute copy across programmatic, campaign, print, and digital needs.
  • Lead copywriting and narrative development for integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Produce engaging feature and impact stories for the Jewish Federation’s blog and the regional newspaper.
  • Ensure a consistent brand voice across all touchpoints.
  • Craft compelling, audience-focused messaging.
  • Directly supervise and mentor the Marketing Coordinator.
  • Manage workload distribution, project delegation, and setting priorities for the Marketing Coordinator.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching to the Marketing Coordinator.
  • Foster a collaborative, mission-driven environment focused on professional development, cross-functional coordination, and team effectiveness.
  • Lead digital communications execution for assigned departments.
  • Build, schedule, and send email communications, ensuring audience segmentation accuracy, strong engagement, and brand alignment.
  • Maintain and manage day-to-day website updates for portfolio webpages.
  • Manage social media content needs to support upcoming programs and campaigns.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on marketing performance and campaign effectiveness.
  • Use data analytics to track key metrics and provide actionable insights.
  • Manage project budgets for assigned campaigns.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources and accurate tracking of expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations preferred or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing or communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in account management, campaign execution, and cross-functional project management.
  • Experience leading or partnering with cross-functional working teams, clients, donor groups, or programmatic departments.
  • Direct experience generating content strategy, crafting copy, and ensuring brand voice consistency across print, digital, and campaign channels.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring, and delegating tasks to direct reports.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to manage portfolio performance independently while knowing when to escalate issues.
  • Proficient in marketing analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot) and CRM/email platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in AP style.
