About the Role
Arcadis is seeking a Principal Wastewater Modeller to lead the development of wastewater models, manage key project aspects, and collaborate with clients. This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking to further their career while mentoring others, taking a leadership position in client engagement, particularly with water utilities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure modelling projects of various scales.
- Conduct technical reviews of wastewater models, oversee model build and verification, and manage survey specifications.
- Develop strategic solutions to mitigate flooding and reduce CSO spills.
- Provide support to designers during concept, outline, and detailed design stages.
- Review and enhance technical reports and presentations to maintain high-quality standards.
- Resolve technical modelling challenges and contribute to advancing the team's technical expertise.
- Ensure project components comply with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with clients, explaining model outputs and processes clearly.
- Support and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Assist with bid preparation, including narratives, cost estimates, and programmes.
- Coordinate project elements, managing resource allocation, quality assurance, subcontractor interactions, and client feedback.
- Work alongside specialists from other engineering and environmental disciplines.
- Liaise effectively with the Project Director or Manager and the client to support project progress.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by supporting professional development and guiding junior members.
Requirements
- Advanced expertise in hydraulic modelling for wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in team and stakeholder coordination and management.
- Proficient in InfoWorks ICM.
- Competent in using relevant GIS software packages.
- Proven experience in model quality assurance procedures.
- Strong report-writing skills.
- Advanced abilities in spreadsheet-based data analysis.
