About the Role
Brooklyn Law School is seeking a Deputy Registrar for Registration and Reporting to manage administrative processes for student registration and data management. This role supports efficient operations and provides assistance to students and faculty.
Responsibilities
- Manage registration processes, including student information, database updates, troubleshooting, course enrollments, and waitlists.
- Create teaching schedules, 1L group schedules, and final exam schedules.
- Manage and provide data for reporting agencies and constituents like ABA, Middle States, IPEDS, and NYSED.
- Assist with operations during final examinations.
- Report and verify enrollment data with the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Process student status updates, including pass/fail requests, leaves of absence, withdrawals, and transfer of divisions.
- Review and update the course catalog and certificate program requirements.
- Assist with grading, including approvals and posting.
- Oversee, collect, and analyze data entry into Colleague (Ellucian) and update the school's intranet.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in education, preferably in a registrar's office or academic affairs.
- Understanding of FERPA and student records privacy.
- Ability to make independent decisions with limited supervision and maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Creativity in problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication with staff, colleagues, employees, and students.
- Comfort with technology and various systems and software.
