About the Role
Provides supportive counseling, ADL training, crisis intervention, and restorative services to individuals with psychiatric disabilities in residential programs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, restorative services, assistance in negotiating community activities, and crisis management services.
- Monitor, train, and assist residents in household maintenance to ensure a clean, safe, and homelike environment.
- Provide training, supervision, and assistance to residents in daily activities including food purchases, recreational activities, meal planning, and personal care.
- Assist residents in developing and achieving meaningful service plan goals.
- Conduct fire safety training and ensure fire drills are conducted according to guidelines.
- Participate in Medicaid billable activities and ensure documentation is current and compliant.
- Document resident interactions according to agency policies and standards.
- Meet weekly with primary residents for counseling and to establish/review service plan goals.
- Maintain collateral contacts with outside service providers and participate in case conferences.
- Assist residents in procuring and maintaining financial entitlements.
- Monitor medications as required.
- Make scheduled visits to residents in apartments or provide 24-hour supervision in congregate facilities.
- Provide transportation using a personal vehicle when an agency vehicle is unavailable.
- Promptly report emergencies, incidents, and safety issues to senior staff.
- Participate in scheduled team meetings.
- Work a minimum of one shift monthly within the department.
- Complete assigned program trainings.
- Facilitate data sharing with individuals to support partnered decision-making and inform clients of progress.
- Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed.
- Cultivate a culture of inclusion respecting individual strengths, views, and experiences.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Demonstrate commitment to maintaining a safe work environment by following established safety guidelines.
- Utilize relevant knowledge or experience regarding health and safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a residential or mental health setting.
- If currently employed by CN Guidance, minimum of 1-year of employment in CN Guidance Residential department in good standing.
